The Church is quiet, calm and at peace, though that;s normal because it's not sunday, nor a holiday. And aside ffrom a few crows out twoards the graveyard, the Tall Sister known as Mercy is sweeping the main chapel, her habit worn and perfectly set, if abit snug around her torso, the double barrel shotgun ather hip always a reminder that she is anything but orthodox, then again, when Goid calls one to a purpose, one must obey the wishes of the lord.

Roy was taking a stroll through the main street of Grimwood this fine day with his trusty Mexican navy colt revolver with an ivory handle at its holster by his side. He decides to visit the church to pay his respects to the lord. Of course, Roy wants to be on the lord's good side when the grim reaper comes for him in a battle? No, perhaps during a minor firefight? Who knows. He makes his way to the doorway of the church and calls out to the person in the nun's clothes "Sister, would you join me in a prayer?".

Mercy looks up from her chores and spots the man, one of the miners from her best guess. "If it's for luck with fortune, the good lord frowns upan asking for such lofty favors." She says as she sets the broom aside and moves twoards the alter, her voice is very authoritive, and matches her stature easily. "Come then, let us pray." She says as she turns to face the alter and clears her throat, waiting for the man to take his seat before the begins to recite a prayer, her Rosary finding it's way into her hands.

Roy nods solemnly at Mercy while he silently comtemplates whether asking the lord for preservation is right? Does it matter in the end? Hopefully the lord is as forgiving as so often portrayed. Roy goes to find his seat at the front of the pews closest to the altar. As he settles down for a prayer to the lord he lowers his head and crosses his fingers.

The tall sister exhales and begins her soft chanting prayer, The Divine Mercy Chaplet.

"O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!"

"Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen."

She then begins to turn the beads in her hand, of course she is going to give the long version, someone as devout as her wouldn't do otherwise.

Roy mutters the prayer along with Mercy with little apparent joy. Although, this is the least he can do to please the lord after breaking the sixth commandment as a soldier. He is a veteran these days but killing is killing, no matter the business. He sort of enjoys seeing his former enemies bleed like pigs but doesn't want to admit it. Raises his head to notice that Mercy is going for another round of chanting. Is that fine? He decides to keep his fingers crossed. He came here to pray after all, might as well do it properly then.

Mercy continues the final part of the prayer as she keeps her soft spoken voice during the chant.

"Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen."

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead; I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."

With that finished she lights one of the candles on the alter before turning to face the man. "There, if Father O'malley wasn't missing, I would fetch him for a confession." She states s she places her hands in front of her.

Roy finishes chanting the prayer with Mercy. He takes a more comfortable position on the pew he is sitting on if that is possible. Why are pews so uncomfortable anyway? Wonder if they were ever cushioned or something. Roy raises his eyes to meet Mercy's "Oh, what happened to the father?" very shortly after that Roy notices the shotgun on her belt and says "Did you really shoot him?".

Mercy blinks at Roy's quip about her shooting him and she frowns. "No, I believe one of the Indian hunting groups caught him, that or the other rumor that he ran away with a whore." She says, though, it's always a sad day when a member of the cloth breaks their vows. "I have sent word to the arch bishop to send us another priest." She says as she looks up to the cross of Jesus.

Roy stands up from the pews and makes his way to the hallway. He stretches and turns to leave the church "Must have been quite a woman, i would not be surprised if she was the devil itself." Roy walks towards the doorway of the church "Thank you for the prayers sister." he nods. "Hopefully the church gets a more responsible padre soon. One that's a less tempting target."

Mercy nods and smiles. "Go with god, and should you find your fortune,m please remember that the lord smiles upon sacrifice, and offering." She states as she moves back to her broom to finish her chores for the day.
